From the first breath of incense you take, you realize you are in a new world.
The Moksha Visionary Art Fair was a psychedelic experience on its own. With artwork from great surrealists and postmodernists such as Alex Grey, Allyson Grey, Robert Venosa, and Martina Hoffman, the entire warehouse was a wave of color and transparency.
Throughout the night, various psychedelic rock bands swayed their music into the spinning glow of lights and aromas. Bands like Satchi Om, David Starfire, Arboles Libres, and Out of the Anonymous evoked emotion and movement with the crowd, diving into pools of upbeat blues, rock, and an experimental mix of the two.
Three stages were set up for live bands and DJs, as well as an array of vendors and food stands for the public. The main stage was dizzy in the lights and waves of laser lights, while a campfire stage was set up in the chilling December breeze outside.
Spirituality was a common theme throughout the night, and if the music didn’t give it away, the artwork definitely did. It’s safe to say I’ll be keeping my ear wide open for any news of Moksha in the future.
