GENERAL

  • LIVE is a performance-based music school where students do more than learn an instrument—they become musicians. In addition to personalized instruction, students have opportunities to collaborate with peers, perform on professional stages, participate in workshops, and develop confidence through real-world musical experiences. We proudly serve students at our North Miami and Hallandale locations.

  • We offer music programs for children, teens, and adults. Our youngest students typically begin around age 6 in private lessons, while our Debut Program is designed specifically for children ages 7–8 who are ready to begin playing with others.

  • Absolutely. Many of our students begin with no prior musical experience. Lessons are personalized to each student's age, goals, and experience level.

  • Yes. We work with students of all levels, including advanced musicians preparing for auditions, performances, college programs, and professional opportunities.

  • LIVE combines personalized instruction with real performance experiences, collaborative learning, and an inclusive community where every student is welcomed, encouraged, and supported from day one. Here, students of all ages build confidence, creativity, lifelong musical skills, and meaningful friendships while becoming part of a community that inspires them to grow both as musicians and as individuals.

PRIVATE LESSONS

  • We offer private lessons in:

    Additional instruments may be available depending on instructor availability.

  • Most students attend one lesson each week throughout the school year.

  • Lesson lengths vary depending on the student's age, goals, and program. Private instrument lessons for students ages 6-7 are 30min, while older students, ages 8-18 and adults can sign up for 45-60min weekly private lessons.

  • Yes. We welcome adult students of every experience level, from complete beginners to experienced musicians.

TRIAL LESSONS

  • Yes. We offer a complimentary assessment and trial lesson. This allows us to learn about the student's experience, musical interests, and goals while helping determine the best learning path or program.

  • One of our instructors will meet with the student, discuss musical interests, evaluate their current level (if applicable), and recommend the most appropriate lessons or band placement.

CREATIVE MUSIC INDUSTRY

  • The CMI Band Program combines weekly sectionals with full-band rehearsals, allowing students to develop their musical skills while performing with other musicians. Students prepare for regular live performances and learn collaboration, stage presence, musicianship, and teamwork.

  • Students participate in a complimentary assessment so we can evaluate their experience, goals, personality, and musical interests before recommending the best band placement.

  • Not necessarily. Placement depends on the student's current abilities and readiness. Beginners may first benefit from private lessons, Instrument Labs, or the Debut Program before joining a band.

  • CMI students perform at least three times per year at professional venues, with many additional performance opportunities throughout the year, including community events, showcases, and special collaborations. These real-world experiences help students build confidence, stage presence, teamwork, and musicianship.

DEBUT PROGRAM

  • The Debut Program introduces children ages 7–8 to collaborative music-making. Students combine weekly private lessons with small-group ensemble rehearsals to build confidence, teamwork, listening skills, and performance experience.

  • Many students continue into the Creative Music Industry (CMI) Band Program as they grow musically.

INSTRUMENT LABS

  • Instrument Labs are small-group classes where students of similar ages and skill levels learn together while receiving personalized instruction from experienced teachers.

  • Instrument Labs are an integral part of the Creative Music Industry (CMI) Band Program and provide focused instruction in a small-group setting. Private lessons are available as an optional add-on for students who would benefit from additional one-on-one instruction, depending on their goals and experience.

PERFORMANCES

  • Yes. Performance is an important part of learning at LIVE. Students have opportunities to perform throughout the year in showcases, community events, and professional venues.

  • Yes. Live performances are an important part of both the Creative Music Industry (CMI) Band Program and the Debut Program. Students prepare throughout the semester with the guidance of their instructors and perform in a supportive, encouraging environment designed to build confidence and musicianship.

BERKLEE

  • Yes. LIVE is a member of the Berklee City Music Network, providing students with unique educational opportunities and access to Berklee-related programs.

  • Qualified students may have opportunities to participate in Berklee City Music programs and scholarship opportunities, depending on eligibility and available programs.

STEP UP FOR STUDENTS

  • Yes. LIVE accepts eligible Step Up For Students scholarships. Our team can guide families through the enrollment process.

  • Eligible families reserve services through Step Up For Students, and our administrative team will help coordinate the required service orders and enrollment process.

SCHEDULING

  • Feel free to call our text us. The first step is scheduling a complimentary assessment and trial lesson. After meeting with an instructor, we'll recommend the best program and help you complete enrollment.

  • Private music lessons are offered year-round, and new students can typically begin as soon as an instructor is available. The Creative Music Industry (CMI) Band Program and the Debut Program have designated enrollment periods throughout the year to ensure students begin and progress together as a group.

  • Having an instrument at home is recommended for consistent practice, but we'll gladly help you determine what equipment is appropriate before making a purchase.

    Both locations offer personalized music instruction and performance opportunities.

PARENTS

  • Our instructors provide ongoing feedback through our online student and family portal, where they share lesson notes, practice assignments, songs to work on, and personalized recommendations. Families can also follow their student's progress through regular communication, skill development, and live performances throughout the year.

  • Absolutely! Students are encouraged to explore different instruments as they discover new interests. Our Summer Program is an ideal opportunity to try something new, while the school year provides the consistency needed to develop proficiency and long-term musical growth. Our instructors are happy to recommend the best transition based on each student's goals, interests, and experience.

  • Yes. LIVE offers immersive summer music programs featuring band rehearsals, workshops, music production, songwriting, and live performances.
